Now that we’ve been tested for our right brain/left brain functioning, let’s talk about creative intelligence. Orna Ross shares in her blog that we may have three kinds of creativity, and she suggests – and I agree – that we use different aspects for different tasks.
But what about other intelligences? You’ve probably heard of Goleman’s emotional intelligence, but did you know there are others that came first? Howard Gardner suggested that we have these: verbal/linguistic, logical/mathematical, visual/spatial, bodily/kinesthetic, musical, intrapersonal, interpersonal and naturalistic. According to Gardner, we use three to four of them primarily.
I’m guessing mine are verbal, visual, musical and intrapersonal, and see how they all might contribute to my creativity. But I’m going to take the test. Maybe I have a secret math processing brain – I’d sure love to find it.
What about you?
