An Unexpected Goodbye

The van pulls away and I am left alone. Nag champa hangs heavy and sweet in the room; several votives glow. Indy lies curled in the box I prepared for her, a now-forever bed that smells faintly of tea, her lifeless body nestled in an old sweater.
