On first sight, a Norse goddess six-feet high, big breasted and blonde in three-inch platform heels. We met as freshmen,  strangers in a shared dorm room at a tiny eastern college. Wearing a black Mickey Mouse t-shirt (a memory she returned to me some thirty years later), awed by her statuesque and violent presence, I immediately began to shrink and pale.

She was a poetess, a lover of words, and – unashamedly – men. (Read more)
