The Writer’s Toolbox

The newsletter from my alma mater, Bard College, showcases many accomplished people, and I’m always interested in what my classmates are doing. This week I was thrilled to see that classmate Jamie Callan is publishing The Writer’s Toolbox. It looks like a winner, containing cards, a timer and “Non Sequitor Sticks” to help jump start writers’ creativity. Jamie also says that the the games are visual and tactile, so all kinds of creative artists may find it useful.
The other gem in the Books by Bardians section is a quote from poet Robert Kelly about his new book Threads. He describes sentences as “the bones of meaningfulness on which scraps of flesh or silks might drape for a moment.” It took my breath away.
