About Pamela Villars

pv-stella1I live in Austin, Texas, with Stella (a neurotic border collie mix) and Tails (a wild young pup) and aspire to be the female Dog Whisperer. I also whisper my adult daughter whenever I can.

“Newly hatched,” I’ve been writing creatively for about two years: poetry, short stories and memoir. Luck has been with me – I’ve been published in Integral Yoga Magazine, Tiny Lights Flash in the Pan, Drash Pit, Scalped Magazine, Wanderings Magazine and Literary Mama. On the way, I’ve learned a tiny bit about the struggle to stay motivated – including how important it is to give yourself a break – how to be patient with your learning, and to remember to enjoy.

I’m an old bird related to psychology, social service and mental health, single parenting and exploring world religions.

Here, I’m sharing writing resources I find helpful, some of my work, more of my angst, helpful hints I’m learning about this whole creativity thing and…the rest is up to you. Your suggestions, comments and creativity drive the mix.

A warning to my readers: as of April 09, I’ve fallen hard for poetry.

    I have found my way here from alatru’s superb ‘Sick Days’ blog fiction site, which I consider on course for the bloggie of the year award.

    You have an electic site with some nice pieces to read and mull over.

    Do you know of Short Story Library Forum at;

    http://forum.shortstory.us.com/index.php

    You might like to have a look, I think you’d fit in well, should you choose. (My handle there is OFaBOF)

    Best to you,

      Dave, thank you for visiting. I agree that Alan’s site Sick Days should win…everything. (For those who are interested, it’s in my blogroll.) Not many sites make me laugh out loud.

      I’ll be searching for you at the site you listed and on your home turf. Be careful :-)

    Pamela –

    Stephen Gerald forwarded your web-site to me, and I enjoyed viewing it very much. I like the ease of it. And the openness. The picture of you and your border collie was a great way for me to see my old college classmate. You’re as lovely as ever, and my wife agrees with my assessment. How old is your daughter, and how is she doing? As always, my house is open to you and yours. My wife, Carol, would enjoy meeting you. We are planning a trip to Texas within the next 2 months, and told Stephen that we would stop by and see him, perhaps we could connect with you as well if you are available. Take care of yourself. Once again, it was great seeing your web-site.

    Hi Pamela,
    I have been having a peek around various sections of your great blog.I concur with your fans!
    Anyway, I would be very interested to have your opinion on my baby (as it where) as I think you would find a lot of mind material to consider
